A woman passed away in the late afternoon Friday right after the woman’s vehicle ran off Laguna Canyon Road and went down an eighteen foot hill a CHP official stated.
The woman had been traveling about sixty five miles per hour, Southbound, within the speed limit on the road. The woman was aged fifty five to sixty and was pronounced deceased on Laguna Canyon Road by Paramedics. The woman’s name is being withheld awaiting notification of next of kin.
2 witnesses who stopped stated the woman’s vehicle went right and down the embankment. The witnesses had been traveling southbound behind the woman, who was traveling in a 1990s Mercedes-Benz automobile.
The actual roll-over happened about fifeteen miles north of the seventy three Motorway.
The cause is unknown; however alcoholic beverages were not involved. Traffic was not heavy at the time. Traffic backed up when authorities shut the right lane after the roll-over. The actual scene was cleared about 8 P.M.
Laguna Canyon Road is well known for accidents. Usually, however, they are front end to front end vehicle impacts or rear end accidents. For a single vehicle to suddenly veer off the road and roll down an embankment is unusual.
