An early morning motorcycle crash in Southern California occurred on Saturday, October 23, 2010, in Seal Beach. Authorities reported that the fatal motorcycle crash took place on the 405 freeway south of the Seal Beach Boulevard exit at approximately 4:15 a.m.

The California Highway Patrol reported the weather as cloudy and wet. iIt appears the motorcycle was traveling southbound down the 405 freeway at approximately 70 mph when the driver lost control of the bike. The motorcycle ended up striking the center divider, sending the driver flying off his bike and onto the highway.

The Orange County Fire Authority arrived at the scene, treating the motorcycle driver for life-threatening injuries. The motorcycle driver was transported to Los Alamitos Medical Center, but sadly died due to his injuries. The Coroner’s Office pronounced the driver dead at 4:55 a.m.

The driver was later identified as 28-year-old Christopher McGinnis of Los Angeles.
