Orange County Motorcycle Crash Claims Two Lives

On the evening of August 21, 2011, a fatal Orange County motorcycle crash in Silverado Canyon claimed the life of two. California Highway Patrol indicated that this fatal Sunday evening crash happened around 6:55 p.m. in an unincorporated area of Orange County north of Lake Forest.

Witnesses told police that a motorcycle carrying two riders crashed into trees on Santiago Canyon Road. According to reports, the motorcycle was traveling north on a curvy section of the street, near Williams Canyon Road, when the wreck occurred.

The male motorcycle driver drove his 2000 Harley Davidson off the road and down a dirt embankment, crashing into several trees. Police don’t know why the driver allowed the motorcycle to travel in this direction. Authorities are still investigating the crash.

Both the male driver and the female passenger were ejected from the bike. According to the CHP, both were pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The Orange County coroner identified the male driver as Donn Lavigne, 58, of Anaheim Hills; however, the female passenger’s name has not been released due to pending family notification.

We at the Law Office of John P. Burns extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victims involved in this motorcycle crash.
