I recently posted an article entitled How to Handle Your Own Calif. Accident Case – Tip # 1 –OC Accident Lawyer.

The article is the first in a series of tip articles which I plan to write. My goal is to help those who want to handle their accident case themselves. As in many things, if someone can give you a road map of what you need to do you have a much better chance of succeeding.

I have decided to write these tip articles on every aspect of automobile and other motor vehicle accident cases.  Many of the tips in these tip articles will also contain information that also applies to other types of injury cases.

The 3 things I discuss in this first tip article are as follows:

  1. The need to report certain accidents on form SR-1 to the California DMV.
  2. The need to call the insurance company of the person who caused the accident.
  3. The need to call your own insurance company.

This article is only the first step in the mission I have decided to accomplish. That mission is to give people all the information they need to handle their own case if they wish to do so.  If someone is going to handle their own case they should have someone who will at least try to help them avoid mistakes that could ruin their case.

Please let me know how you feel about this mission that I am setting out on. If you have questions about any aspect of handling such cases please also let me know.  I will answer the question and probably write the answer into another free tip so that others can benefit from your question.
