Orange County Personal Injury attorney John P. Burns has published an article and video to help people know what to expect when they call the insurance company of the person who caused an accident they were in. The article is entitled How to Call the Insurance Company of the Other Driver-Tip # 2.  The video discussing what to expect from the insurance adjuster is also available on You Tube,

The article first discusses a previous article and video by Mr. Burns entitled OC Accident Lawyer – How to Handle Your Calif. Accident Case – Tip # 1. That article listed three things that needed to be done as soon as a person who had been in an accident got to their home or office. One of those three things was to call the insurance company of the person who caused the accident.

The article on how to call the insurance company of the person who caused the accident discusses all of the information that the insurance adjuster for the person who caused the accident will want from you. The article lists seven questions that are almost always asked by the insurance adjuster in such a telephone conversation.

The article also discusses the questions that may be asked about the damage to your vehicle. Details are provided as to where the insurance company will want to have your vehicle looked at by an insurance company vehicle damage adjuster.

The article concludes with a discussion of what do to if the insurance adjuster for the other driver asks if you will agree to have a recording made of the telephone conversation. In both of article and the video Mr. Burns advises you to politely decline to give a recorded statement and explains the reasons why.
